The Living Eternal Word | Pastor John Letterman | Riverview Christian

Riverview Christian

In this sermon, we delve into the profound truth of God's Word as living, eternal, and foundational to our faith. Rooted in key scriptures—John 1:1-2, Hebrews 11:3, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12-13, and Isaiah 40:7-8—we explore the divine nature of the Word, both spoken and written.

We begin by reflecting on John 1:1-2, where Jesus Christ is revealed as the Word made flesh, existing from the beginning with God. This eternal Word is not just a historical text but the active, life-giving presence of God that shaped creation itself, as affirmed in Hebrews 11:3.

The sermon then examines the role of Scripture, inspired by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness, as Paul writes in 2 Timothy 3:16-17. We are reminded of the transformative power of the Word, sharper than any two-edged sword, able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12-13).

Finally, drawing from Isaiah 40:7-8, we are assured that while human endeavors may fade, the Word of our God stands forever. This message encourages believers to anchor their lives in the enduring truth of God's Word, finding strength, guidance, and hope in its eternal promises.

This week's message is from our Lead Pastor, John Letterman.
